I am doing my ancestry and my grandmother Kathleen Marie Barns who died in 2007 was related to the Barns in Ilfracombe Devon.She often spoke of the seafarers. In the Barns family. I am particularly interested to confirm that John Barns b.1757 d.1845 is the able seamen aboard the hms Minotaur in the battle of the Nile 1-3 August 1798. He certainly was a seaman and so were future generations of the Barns family. I still do not have a spouse for John Barns although some say his wife might have been called Grace. Thanks you.
